Senior pharmaceutical executive and clinical research expert to advise SciMar ONE on the company’s pharmaceutical alliances and partnerships.
ALLENTOWN, NJ, October 25, 2021 – SciMar ONE (SciMar) welcomes Kathleen Hurtado, RPh, to its Board of Advisors as pharmaceutical alliances and partnerships advisor.
In this role, Kathleen will guide SciMar’s growth and expansion by establishing connections with key pharmaceutical stakeholders and partners in support of SciMar’s proprietary Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, the Scientific Data Engine™ (SDE).
A drug development expert and long-time healthcare senior executive, Kathleen has held leadership positions across various healthcare channels including Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies, national academic and clinical research institutions, and national and regional hospital systems.
Formerly, Kathleen was CEO of the Health Research Association which provides clinical trial support to the University of Southern California. She was executive vice president of sales and marketing for Schering Plough’s oncology and biotech divisions, and director of operations at the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group at Duke University. She has vast startup experience as CEO and other officer positions for several US-based biotech companies. Kathleen is currently associate vice president of the Office of Research Administration for Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
Kathleen will use her expertise in clinical research administration, compliance, and regulatory management to guide SciMar’s pharmaceutical partnerships.

Kathleen earned a BS in pharmacy at the University of Houston and was a pediatric oncology pharmacist at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She is affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Board of Counselors of the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, and the Board of Directors for Westside Family Health Center.
An active healthcare speaker, Kathleen often presents on topics including clinical trial budgeting, billing and contracting, successful negations, and building effective teams.
Kathleen resides in Texas, where she enjoys walking her dogs, reading, and spending time with family.
