Ganesh Mani, Ph.D., MBA Joins SciMar ONE’s Board of Advisors


ALLENTOWN, NJ, November 18, 2021 – SciMar ONE, LLC (SciMar) welcomes Ganesh Mani, Ph.D., MBA to its Board of Advisors as technology and business advisor.

 

Dr. Mani is a pioneer in applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data across verticals such as asset management, early cancer detection, and scientific knowledge. As advisor, Dr. Mani will provide insights to help guide SciMar’s technology and business operations in support of its proprietary AI technology, the Scientific Data Engine™ (SDE).

 
An adjunct faculty member of Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) School of Computer Science, Dr. Mani’s distinguished career includes successful startup exits with technologies that scale human knowledge via AI. He sold one of the earliest AI/ML (machine learning) asset management boutiques into State Street Global Advisors, nucleating the company’s Advanced Research Center. Dr. Mani serves as an advisor to many high-tech startups, he is president of The Global Innovation Center which provides enterprise data innovation outsourcing solutions, and he has published dozens of articles on investment innovation, machine learning, AI, fintech, and startups. He currently teaches a class on AI Grand Challenges to CMU’s global students.

Dr. Mani was an early member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance. He serves on the advisory boards for the Journal of Financial Data Science and (Cell Press) Patterns; he is former president and current board member of the Pittsburgh chapter of TiE, a nonprofit organization devoted to entrepreneurs. He is a mentor and advisor for professional organizations including Sabudh, The Financial Data Professional Institute, and IvyCap Ventures; he has been featured on ABC Nightline and in a Barron’s cover story New Brains on the Block.

 

Dr. Mani earned an MBA in finance and a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He has an undergraduate degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay. He resides in Pittsburgh and enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
